Amelia Gordon "Mimi" Ward

On June 23, 2011, AMELIA WARD (nee AMELIA CHEEK GORDON ), beloved sister of Sally Gordon Roberts; beloved life partner of James B. Young; and daughter of William Harrison Gordon and Amelia Cheek Gordon; cousin of David Walker Barton, Frances Gorman King and Sally Barton Willse, passed away peacefully at her home in Ocean Pines, Maryland. Mimi was a graduate of Vassar College, Garrison Forest School and Calvert School, with an MBA from George Washington University. She worked for both the Rouse Corporation and later the Baltimore Regional Planning Council. She served as community administrator for Baltimore's Cold Spring New Town Community, where she was an original owner and lived for many years. She was a longtime board member of the Koinania Foundation in Baltimore and, in retirement, on the board of the Mid-Atlantic Symphony, for which she established the MSO Endowment Fund and the MSO Reserve Fund.
